Penny Babb is serving a one-year term as president of Soroptimist's international board of directors. As president, Babb oversees strategic planning and program development for the organization. She will also lead Soroptimist’s efforts to increase its collective impact in helping women and girls around the world to reach their full potential.
A member since 1998, Babb has held several leadership positions at all levels of the organization including region governor and secretary; district director; and club president, vice president, and secretary.
Babb recently retired as the director of law enforcement operations at Glendale Community College (MCCCD) following a 25 year career with the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office. She holds a master of educational leadership degree from Northern Arizona University, a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and criminal justice, and a bachelor’s of science degree in Afro-American studies from Eastern Illinois University. In addition to her Soroptimist involvement, she is a member of Christ’s Church of the Valley.
