Gloria “Ginger” Cole, Ed.D.
Dr. Ginger Cole of Los Angeles, CA (Camino Real Region), is currently serving a one-year term as president of Soroptimist's international of the Americas, Inc.® (SIA) Board of Directors. In this role, Ginger will guide the board in shaping the organization’s vision, overseeing its financial and strategic direction, and leading efforts to amplify Soroptimist’s global impact in empowering women and girls to achieve their full potential through access to education.
A member since 2007, Ginger has held several leadership positions, including board president-elect and secretary; region governor and secretary; and club president and vice president.
"I am deeply humbled that the membership of SIA has elected me to this leadership position,” Ginger said. “Our membership represents a very diverse constituency, united and committed to improving the lives of women and girls throughout the world. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the transformative nature of our programs and I look forward to our continued collective efforts to invest in the dreams of those we serve.”
Ginger retired from her career in 2011 after working as an administrator for the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1979. She holds a doctorate's degree in educational leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to her work with Soroptimist, she is also a member of the Foothill Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
