How Can I Join Soroptimist?
Joining is simple. Fill out our interest form, and we'll connect you with a local Soroptimist club*! A club member will then reach out with next steps and, if it’s a good fit, extend an invitation to join. Once you accept, you’re officially a Soroptimist!

Who can join Soroptimist?
Membership is open to anyone—of any gender—who shares our mission and values, and lives in one of our federation countries or territories.
Where is Soroptimist located?
Soroptimist International of the Americas has clubs in over a dozen countries across North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. Other Soroptimist federations operate in other parts of the globe as well.
Is Soroptimist a political or religious organization?
While we advocate for women, Soroptimist is not a political or religious organization.
What does Soroptimist mean?
The name “Soroptimist” comes from the Latin words soror (sister) and optima (best), meaning “best for women.”
How much does a Soroptimist membership cost?
Annual dues vary by club and region, but members can expect to pay around $100-150 per year on average. The club year runs from July 1 to June 30, with dues typically due on July 1. New members joining between January 1 and June 30 pay a reduced SIA rate. For exact amounts, your local club can provide a full breakdown when you inquire about joining.
