SIA President-Elect

Virginia “Gigie” Penalosa

Virginia “Gigie” Penalosa of SI/Mandaluyong, Philippines (Philippines Region), is currently serving a one-year term as president-elect of the Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc.® (SIA) Board of Directors. In this role, Gigie collaborates with President Madoka Ushio, and board members to oversee Soroptimist’s strategic planning and program development. She will assume the role of SIA president on September 1, 2027.

A Soroptimist since 2008, Gigie has held several leadership positions within the organization, including Soroptimist International (SI) international director, SIA board secretary/treasurer, SIA board director, region governor, district director, region program chair and club president.

In addition to her work as a Soroptimist, Gigie has owned her own business since 1990. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Siena College. In her free time, she enjoys the arts, reading and traveling.
