SIA President-Elect

Madoka Ushio

Madoka Ushio of SI/Asahikawa, Japan (Japan Kita Region), is currently serving a one-year term as president-elect of the Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc.® (SIA) Board of Directors. In this role, Madoka collaborates with President Sue Riney, and board members to oversee Soroptimist’s strategic planning and program development. She will assume the role of SIA president on September 1, 2026.

A member since 1998, Madoka has held several leadership positions, including region public awareness chair, region governor, region governor-elect, club president and club president-elect.

In addition to her work as a Soroptimist, Madoka has served on several committees including the Bloomington-Normal Asahikawa Sister Cities Committee and the Hokkaido University of Education Supporter’s Association. She received the Hokkaido Social Contribution Award in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys golf, skiing and participating in tea ceremonies.
