Soroptimist Announces Linda M. Still, CMP, as New Meetings Director

Philadelphia, PA —Soroptimist International of the Americas, a global volunteer organization that economically improves the lives of women and girls, welcomes Linda M. Still, CMP, as its meetings director.
Still is responsible for designing and executing innovative meeting and event experiences that engage Soroptimist members and achieve organizational goals. This includes planning meetings for leadership, as well as executing Soroptimist’s biennial convention, which is marketed to its 31,000+ members around the world.
“I am excited for the opportunity to join an organization that supports and improves the lives of disadvantaged women and girls around the world,” stated Still. “I look forward to drawing on my personal and professional experience to help Soroptimist achieve its strategic goals.”
A certified meeting professional (CMP), Still has more than 20 years of experience in the meeting and hospitality industry, which includes a thorough knowledge of strategic program development; long-range conference planning; and project, meeting and event management. Most recently, she served as the director of education and meeting services for the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in New York City, where she was responsible for planning the annual convention and developing the continuing education programs. Her career also includes serving as senior director of operations for the Advertising Specialty Institute/The ASI Show in Trevose, Pa., and as director of meetings and exhibits for the American Association for Cancer Research. Still is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association.

Soroptimist’s newest program, Dream It, Be It, provides professional roles models and career education to girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success. To date, 20,000 girls have benefited from the program.
