Executive Director & CEO
Elizabeth M. Lucas, CAE, MBA
As Soroptimist International of the Americas’s Executive Director & CEO, Lucas oversees the overall direction setting and implementation of our organization’s operations in 20 countries and territories. She is working with volunteers and staff to expand support for our mission, develop resources to ensure our financial security, strengthen our brand, and ensure programming is sustainable and measurable to increase our collective impact. Previously she spent 15 years with the American Massage Therapy Association and the Massage Therapy Foundation. There, she guided the strategic development of both organizations. Her results ranged from the creation of a global expansion strategy to growing the organization two fold; establishing research conferences and online education; and successfully advocating for state laws regulating the profession.
Her prior association experience in the safety, health and environmental industries is where she first started to shape public policy. As a small business owner, she assisted Fortune 500 companies in their new product introduction and sales training. She began her career in retail merchandising, where she learned to identify trends around the globe and adapt them for local consumption.
Lucas is active in professional and civic organizations, including the American Society of Association Executives, the Association Forum of Chicagoland, Landmark College, and the Guild of St. Mary.
