NEWS RELEASE: Soroptimist International of the Americas: Telly Award Winner

Global women's organization receives bronze Telly Award for its video "Soroptimist Empowers Women & Girls"

Philadelphia, PA — The Telly Awards has named Soroptimist International of the Americas a Bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for its video entry entitled “Soroptimist Empowers Women and Girls.” Only 25 percent of the nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries were named as Bronze category winners.

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization of women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The organization also powers, an online community that encourages offline action on behalf of women and girls.  Soroptimist produced the informational video “Soroptimist Empowers Women and Girls” to convey its mission and impact.  The communications team at Soroptimist’s headquarters produced the video with The Merz Group, a branding firm in West Chester, Pa.

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.  For its 35th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards.  In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council (the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners), the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.
