2014-2015 Soroptimist Leadership

Poco Davis Margaret "Poco" Davis, President
President Margaret "Poco" Davis of North Las Vegas, Nevada, began her one-year term as president on September 1, 2014. As president, Davis oversees strategic planning and program development for the organization. Davis is a member of Soroptimist International of Metropolitan Las Vegas. A Soroptimist since 1982, Davis has held several leadership positions, including region governor, and club president and vice president. Outside of Soroptimist, Davis works as a drug and alcohol counselor for Bridge Counseling Associates in Las Vegas.
   
Susan Sam Buchenau Susan "Sam" Buchenau, President-Elect
Susan "Sam" Buchenau of El Cajon, California, began her one-year term as president-elect on September 1, 2014. As president-elect, Buchenau will assist President Margaret "Poco" Davis in overseeing the strategic planning and program development for the organization in an effort to help Soroptimist increase the overall collective impact it has on women and girls around the world. Buchenau is a member of Soroptimist International of Valley de Oro. A member since 1981, Buchenau has held several leadership positions, including fundraising council chair, region governor, district director and secretary, and club president and vice president. She will become the organization’s president on September 1, 2015. In addition to her Soroptimist activities, Buchenau is an active member of the United Church of Christ La Mesa.
   
RoseMary Reid RoseMary Reid, Secretary/Treasurer
RoseMary Reid of Peterborough, Ontario, began her one-year term as secretary/treasurer on September 1, 2014. In this role, Reid prepares minutes for board meetings and conventions, as well as oversees Soroptimist's funds and financial accounts. Reid is a member of Soroptimist International of Peterborough. A member since 1990, she has held several leadership positions, including federation board director, region governor and club president. In addition to her Soroptimist activities, Reid is a strong supporter of the YWCA and Cameron House.
   
Liz Lucas Elizabeth M. Lucas, CAE, MBA, CEO and Executive Director
Liz Lucas was hired as the executive director of Soroptimist International of the Americas in 2011. She comes to Soroptimist with a diverse professional background, including 15 years with the American Massage Therapy Association and the Massage Therapy Foundation, where she began her tenure as director of marketing and communications, but served the last nine years as executive director. In this position, she guided the strategic development of both organizations, which include 56,000 practitioners, 450 educational institutions, and 51 chapters. As Soroptimist's executive director, Lucas oversees the overall operation and services provided to members and women around the world. She is active in professional and civic organizations, including the American Society of Association Executives, the Association Forum of Chicagoland, Landmark College, and the Guild of St. Mary.
