The Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls are awards given to Soroptimist clubs to start or continue projects in their communities that improve the lives of women and girls, in accordance with the mission of SIA. This year $175,000 in funds are available. The deadline for proposals is March 15, 2012.
The photo below shows SI/Curitiba-Batel, Brazil. The club received a $3,000 Soroptimist Club Grant for their project, Building the Future, which provided three sewing shops enabling women and girls to produce and sell fabric shopping bags. In addition, the club provided educational training on customer service and entrepreneurship.
