Meet the 2012 Fundraising Council

Sandy  

Sandra (Sandy) Schultz, Chair, is a member of SI/Glendale, California. A Soroptimist since 1985, Sandy has served as club president; district director; Camino Real Region governor; and federation board director and secretary/treasurer. Sandy is the co-owner of several health care facilities and is the vice president of operations at a healthcare facility management company.

     
Sam  

Susan (Sam) Buchenau has been a member of SI/Valley de Oro, California, USA, since 1981. She has served in a variety of leadership positions including club vice president and president; district director; and Desert Coast Region governor. Sam is the vice president of asset management for Strategic Property Advisors, Inc., an independent, registered investment advisory firm that provides real estate asset management and financial investment advisory services.

     
Suzanne   Suzanne Sullivan has been a member of SI/Pasco-Kennewich, Washington, USA, since 1998. She has served Soroptimist as club president, fundraising chair and district director. Suzanne currently works as the President and CEO of Aero Outdoors, Inc., an outdoor and hunting retailer, and has extensive experience in owning and managing various businesses.
     
Akemi   Akemi Shimada has been a member of SI/Kagoshima, Japan, since 1981. She has been engaged in various Soroptimist volunteer activities and has served as club president, chair of various region committees, and as a program council member at the federation level. As an educator, Akemi lectures on the Theory of Human Environmental Culture at Kagoshima Gaigo Gakuin, the International University of Kagoshima, and Kagoshima Immaculate Heart College.
     
Therisia   Theresia Sims Carrington has been a member of SI/Atlanta, Georgia, USA, since 1994. She has served in a variety of Soroptimist leadership positions including club president, vice president, treasurer and Violet Richardson Award chair; district director and fundraising chair. In addition to her Soroptimist involvement, Theresia is the founder and a past president of the Friends for Life Foundation,  and has served on the boards of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Hulston-Tillotson University Alumni Association, and the Krimson Community Foundation.
