  Soroptimist Live Your Dream Projects

Soroptimist believes in the potential of dreams and the collective power of women. Around the world, Soroptimist clubs are working to improve the lives of women and girls in their local communities. Through projects like those below, they are helping women and girls achieve their full potential and live their dreams.

Members in Soroptimist's Japan Chuo Region hosted a Live Your Dream Youth Forum to raise awarenessabout future leadership roles for women. Three hundred and twenty girls participated in the event, which featured keynote speaker Marry Christy, the UN Habitat Ambassador. Marry spoke about "the world from a woman's view." Afterward, the attendees split into groups to discuss the issues women face and their responsibilities throughout the world. Japan
The Riverside, California, Soroptimist club hosts an annual Live Your Dream Conference for middle-school girls. Club members work with local school districts to identify students who would benefit from the conference, which is designed to help young girls focus on career possibilities and take the steps needed to reach their dreams.

The Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, Soroptimist club sponsored a day-long Live Your Dream event for 100 middle-school girls and their mothers. The event was inspired by a school district survey in which parents identified a need for healthy living and positive body information for their teen girls. The girls and their mothers attended separate sessions tailored to their individual interests on topics such as financial planning, body image, self-esteem, and healthy lifestyles. banff
