Gaining Cooperation from Others
Here are some people skills that will help you gain cooperation from others:
- Acknowledge the importance of other people. This is the surest way to engender loyalty and cooperation.
- Show enthusiasm and energy. Positivity is contagious.
- Encourage and facilitate two-way conversation, and ask for other opinions. People are invested when they feel a part of the process.
- Ask questions instead of giving orders. Communicate what is expected but let people figure out their own way of doing things.
- Show sincere gratitude and give compliments freely.Saying thank you and signaling appreciation goes a long way toward fostering cooperation and inspiring people to want to do more.
